What Makes the Ragdoll Cat So Unique?

Ragdolls are a wonderful breed created by Anne Baker in the 1960s. Named for their tendency to go limp when held, ragdolls are often called “puppy cats.” They crave human attention and don’t do well when left alone. Highly intelligent, they’ll follow you from room to room and maintain eye contact when spoken to.

 Their defining features include:

  • Captivating blue eyes and sweet expression

  • Rabbit‑soft fur coat and large, sturdy build

  • Pointed colour pattern a living heat map resulting from temperature-sensitive albinism, inherited from Siamese ancestors

Colour and growth timeline:

  • Kittens are born white and gradually develop colour over the first weeks

  • Full colouring doesn’t appear until around 2 years of age

  • Ragdolls mature slowly: full fur length and body size typically complete by 4 years

We recognise the importance of matching the right ragdoll kitten to your family. Our adoption process includes guidance on nutrition, grooming, litter training, and socialisation tips.
